About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and nurture relationships with legacy giving society members, known as Joseph Stewards
  • Strengthen engagement and increase planned giving support
  • Build and manage a prospect pipeline by identifying, qualifying, cultivating, and soliciting donors
  • Implement targeted cultivation strategies for legacy and planned gifts
  • Manage an assigned donor portfolio with consistent communication and stewardship
  • Foster connections with legacy giving society members in the United States
  • Segment donors according to interests and communication preferences
  • Provide tailored reports, newsletters, and ministry updates
  • Research, identify, and qualify donors for legacy and planned gift opportunities
  • Promote the Joseph Stewards program through campaigns, newsletters, donor stories, events, and webinars
  • Develop educational content including brochures, web pages, and FAQs
  • Collaborate with estate planning professionals, family members, attorneys, and other stakeholders
  • Support legal and financial aspects and processing of planned and estate gifts
  • Establish financial goals and strategic plans with the team and supervisor
  • Accurately record donor information in the CRM system
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • No supervisory responsibility

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Actively practicing Christian with participation in a local Christian community and strong commitment to Christ
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging
  • Ability to articulate a biblical worldview and explain how World Renew embodies this in its mission
  • Knowledge of the Reformed faith and tradition recommended; working knowledge of the Christian Reformed Church is an asset
  • Self-directed with strong ability to prioritize in a multi-task environment
  • Proven experience in donor relationship building and securing legacy/planned gifts
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and clear verbal and written communication
  • Proficiency in Salesforce or other Customer Relationship Management programs
  • Flexible and adaptable team player
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of donor information
  • Bachelor’s degree in sales, marketing, communications, or another related field required
  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience in fundraising and/or gift planning preferred
  • Fluency in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Travel at least 20% of the time to engage with donors
  • Occasional meetings in the United States and Canada
  • Occasional travel outside North America may be required
  • Permanent work authorization required at time of hire
  • Successful candidate must complete a thorough background check
