About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Arrange simple and complex domestic and international reservations for university-centric clients, including air, car, hotel, limousine, rail, and other ground transportation services
- Advise travelers on applicable travel requirements, including visas, passports, and ancillary costs
- Receive incoming phone calls, emails, and registration forms to complete travel requests
- Manage traveler profiles and queues
- Apply unused tickets on file to reservations to maximize client savings
- Use current technology and automation to perform the job effectively
- Follow company procedures, guidelines, standards, and best practices to secure the lowest logical fares and accommodations
- Research and resolve enroute traveler service concerns in a timely manner
- Apply client travel policies, guidelines, authorization requirements, and procedures
- Foster productive client relationships and provide excellent client service
- Handle multiple assignments and respond quickly to changing business needs
- Take initiative and solve problems
- Interact professionally with clients, employees, and colleagues
- Participate in disaster or emergency recovery events to ensure client needs are met
- Attend staff and training meetings for industry, office procedure, and company updates
- Report to the Manager, Operations; collaborate within the Operations team
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of native Sabre GDS proficient experience
- 5+ years in a corporate travel role utilizing the SABRE GDS
- Current travel industry knowledge and experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly with a client service focus
- Familiarity with university and collegiate communities is a must
- Proven experience with group air blocks and contracts
- Experience with group travel planning and logistics highly desired
- Proficient with international itineraries and rate structures, both simple and complex
- Working knowledge of MS Office products: Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams
- Proven experience with Smartsheet
- Independent worker who is a self-starter and willing to learn
- Strict attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment
- Patience and flexibility
- Ability to participate in disaster or emergency recovery events
- Commitment to lifelong learning
- Technical aptitude
- High School Diploma required
- College Degree preferred
- Ability to work various full-time hours on EST
- Must adhere to the company telecommuting policy and establish a proper home office
- May be asked to report to a World Travel, Inc. office for training, support, or other reasons
