About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform duties appointed by the Shop Manager
  • Direct personnel assigned to work under direct supervision
  • Ensure assigned personnel properly complete paperwork related to their duties
  • Ensure an Inspector is called for final inspection of aircraft work as required
  • Ensure timely completion of maintenance repairs and inspections according to approved policies and regulations
  • Monitor aircraft inspection and repair progress at the shop level
  • Ensure efficient and economical procedures are used
  • Verify personnel under Crew Chief jurisdiction are qualified for assigned duties
  • Lead and direct the assigned group
  • Control the quality and quantity of work produced by the supervised group
  • Provide on-the-job instruction on technical information, procedures, safety, and shop and hangar practices
  • Process required forms for assigned work
  • Maintain the hangar and shops in a clean and orderly manner
  • Ensure work complies with the Company Maintenance Manual and FAA standards
  • Schedule maintenance activities to meet equipment maintenance dates
  • Assign and oversee technicians working on projects

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Airframe and Powerplant Mechanics Certification
  • Minimum one (1) year or more of diversified aircraft and engine maintenance and repairs preferred
  • Knowledge of aircraft, accessories, components, fasteners, and other hardware
  • Knowledge and experience with ATR, Embraer EMB-120, EMB-135/145, Fairchild SA226/227, Saab SF340A/B, S2000, or Beechcraft King Air preferred but not required
  • RII recognition training
  • EWIS training
  • Human Factors training
  • Repair Station Manual training
  • Ability to work in a hangar environment
  • Ability to handle extreme noise from turbine and jet engine aircraft
  • Ability to handle dirty parts and lubricants
  • Ability to operate power vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, and forklifts
