About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Install tow truck bodies, recovery equipment, transport trailers, and related systems
- Install and configure hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and structural components
- Perform equipment upfitting and customization projects
- Complete assembly and fabrication tasks according to manufacturer and company standards
- Perform inspections, preventative maintenance, and repair work
- Diagnose and troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems
- Identify worn, damaged, or defective components and recommend solutions
- Conduct testing and inspections to verify equipment performance and safety
- Perform welding, fabrication, and equipment modifications
- Operate fabrication tools and shop equipment safely
- Build, modify, and reinforce structural components as required
- Ensure all work meets quality and safety expectations
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Follow all OSHA, company, and manufacturer safety guidelines
- Maintain accurate repair documentation and records
- Support efficient workflow and timely completion of customer projects
- Work closely with technicians, service personnel, and shop leadership
- Participate in training and development opportunities
- Share knowledge and support team success
- Help drive continuous improvement and operational excellence
Requirements
What you’ll need- Required Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Experience in fabrication, equipment installation, diesel repair, trailer repair, heavy equipment repair, automotive repair, or related mechanical trades
- Basic understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and structural systems
- Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment
- Ability to read repair instructions, diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation
- Ability to provide and maintain a basic set of hand tools
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in a shop environment
- Preferred Experience with tow trucks, wreckers, recovery equipment, transport equipment, Cottrell trailers, Landoll trailers, or similar products
- Welding and fabrication experience
- Hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting experience
- CDL license
- ASE, welding, hydraulic, electrical, or other industry certifications
