About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Write safety claims and defeaters using eliminative argumentation.
Manage democratized ownership of evidence across cross-functional teams, including providing guidance on appropriate evidence and strategies for claims/defeaters.
Assess inherent and residual risks and create a methodology to aggregate risks across different dimensions, such as motorway versus urban environments.
Work with cross-functional leadership to align on the safety case and communicate risks for informed decisions on releasing software to development fleets and/or mass production.
Partner with feature, systems, safety, cybersecurity, and machine-learning teams to turn prototypes into production-intent, standards-compliant software trusted on public roads.
Execute safety case strategy for public roads development testing and production.
Engage hands-on with automated driving feature teams, Systems Engineering, AI Safety, hardware, operational safety, and compliance.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s or Master’s in CS, EE, ME or related discipline.
5+ years in safety-critical automotive or aerospace systems in a production environment.
Hands-on experience with writing claims/defeaters, contributing evidence and risk assessments for safety cases.
Deep, practical experience with automotive safety standards such as ISO 26262 (esp. Parts 3–6), SOTIF (ISO 21448), ISO 8800 (AI Safety), or UL 4600.
Experience communicating complex technical concepts to internal/external stakeholders and auditors.
Hands-on collaboration with V&V, including HIL/vehicle test design, coverage tactics, and KPI definition.
Excellent cross-functional communication, influence, and documentation skills.
