Demonstrate initiative and contribute suggestions for improvement
Take technical responsibility for the software product
Independently maintain, expand, and improve the backbone of the platform
Develop sustainable solutions for complex requirements
Ensure a maintainable software architecture for the long term
Use AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code to increase efficiency
Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code
Work with current Java versions as well as Google Container Engine and Google Compute Engine
Create and implement containerized microservices using Docker and Kubernetes
Work closely with the Product Owner to deliver features

Requirements

What you’ll need

Successfully completed a degree in Computer Science or vocational training as an IT specialist for application development (m/f/d), or an equivalent qualification
Career changers with relevant experience are welcome
At least 5 years of experience in backend development
Excellent knowledge of backend development with Spring Boot
Knowledge of Java performance and scalability
Experience with AI-assisted development tools or willingness to use them productively
Experience developing scalable and secure backend features
Ability to quickly learn new technologies
Enthusiasm for agile software development
Understanding of Test-Driven Development, code reviews, and Continuous Delivery
Good written and spoken German and English skills
Fluent German is required
Experience with Elasticsearch or Solr, as well as large datasets and NoSQL databases, is desirable
Experience in Identity and Access Management is desirable, e.g., OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, SAML, SCIM, Keycloak, Auth0, Okta, or Microsoft Entra ID
