About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Participate in the WSFS Bank 2027 Summer Internship Program
- Support commercial banking loan portfolio administration through underwriting support for loan renewals, modifications, extensions, and new money requests
- Attend virtual external trainings and coursework, on-site instruction, and job shadowing
- Learn how commercial banking supports local businesses through business financing
- Learn loan operations, approvals, and documentation processes
- Spread financial statements and learn Bank Credit Policy
- Analyze company financial statements
- Understand borrowing needs
- Evaluate industry and business risks
- Become familiar with commercial loan products
- Learn how relationship managers, portfolio managers, and credit professionals collaborate through prospecting, client discussions, underwriting, approval, closing, and ongoing portfolio management
- Support and present on projects, research, or operational activities to Senior Leaders
- Participate in mentorship, networking events, panel discussions, volunteer initiatives, employee resource groups, and social events
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Must have completed a minimum of one full year of college by May 2027
- Pursuing a college degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management or related field
- Basic understanding of accounting and financial statements
- Reliable transportation
- Available for in-person and virtual interviews
- Available for in-person orientation with Human Resources
- Ability to work up to 5 days on-site at a physical office location within the WSFS Bank footprint
- Available for a full-time position of 40 hours per week within a continuous program from the first week of June through early to mid-August
- Fundamental computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office
- Excellent oral and written communication
- Critical thinking and analytical skills
- Organizational skills and proven ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States
- Must not require work visa sponsorship from WSFS Bank now or in the future
