About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide brief crisis-oriented counseling by phone, face to face in the center, or at off-site locations
  • Participate as supervisor on-call to provide 24-hour coverage
  • Coordinate client services with agencies and professionals
  • Screen and refer clients for the appropriate level of care
  • Assist physicians and qualified staff with the first certification process for emergency admission to the Regional Mental Health Institute
  • Pre-assess clients and collect information for emergency admissions
  • Work a designated shift five days per week, generally eight hours per day
  • Respond to fluctuating daily client volume and call back as needed
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all services rendered
  • Attend staff meetings and complete mandatory training
  • Perform related responsibilities as required or directed

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Master’s Degree required
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Emergency behavior management training within 90 day orientation period and maintained throughout employment
  • Computer experience required
  • Experience in the mental health field preferred
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, weekends, and/or holidays as determined by the Clinical Manager
  • Ability to participate in supervisor on-call coverage providing 24-hour coverage
  • Ability to work with adult to geriatric clients who may exhibit labile, volatile, or unpredictable behavior
