About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform basic nursing skills under the direction and supervision of the practice physician, advanced practice professional, and/or registered nursing staff
  • Greet and escort patients to exam rooms; obtain initial information and vital signs
  • Prepare exam rooms, ensuring cleanliness and adequate supplies
  • Assist with and/or perform exams, tests, and procedures
  • Schedule appointments and arrange referral contacts
  • Assist providers during patient examinations and procedures
  • Educate patients on follow-up expectations
  • Maintain quality control testing logs
  • Ensure medical equipment is in proper working condition
  • Assist patients with completing medical documentation

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date
  • Current National Certification as Certified Medial Assistant
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program (preferred)
  • One (1) year of healthcare experience (preferred)
  • Ability to effectively communicate with staff and patients
  • Ability to adapt to changing environments
  • Ability to use and learn software applications
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work
  • Ability to work in both an independent and team setting
  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach and perform normal rotation, standing and walking for an 8-12 hour shift
  • Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly
  • Ability to work around biohazards and infectious diseases
  • May be required to travel between facilities
