About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Partner with departmental leadership to develop, drive, and execute HR best-practice policies, programs, and training
  • Provide HR advisory, coaching, and solutions to functional and business leaders
  • Attend department meetings to understand business activities
  • Support change management across business/service lines
  • Drive talent growth initiatives through talent assessment and career development
  • Lead workforce planning, including data reporting, gap analysis, action plans, and monitoring
  • Partner with leaders on succession and replacement planning programs
  • Develop policies, procedures, training, tools, and reports for succession planning
  • Facilitate talent reviews and succession-planning discussions
  • Collaborate with the CEOD team on talent development programs
  • Monitor succession-plan data integrity in the HRIS and recommend process enhancements
  • Develop and implement employee retention strategies and programs
  • Conduct exit interviews and employee or management focus groups and analyze trends
  • Promote employee engagement and help management interpret engagement survey results
  • Work with compensation, benefits, employee relations, CEOD, and disability management disciplines
  • Assist in administering local audits

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations or related field and three (3) years of professional Human Resources experience with emphasis in an HR generalist role OR Bachelor’s degree in the same fields and five (5) years of professional Human Resources experience with emphasis in an HR generalist role
  • Working knowledge of federal and state labor laws related to all aspects of human resources
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects
  • Clear and concise oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Ability to interface with management and employees at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to travel to Morgantown on an as-needed basis for HR or business needs, 1–2 times per month
  • Extended periods of sitting and computer usage
  • Ability to walk to various areas throughout departments or medical complex, using elevators or stairs as needed
