Key responsibilities & impact
  • Evaluate and conduct medically prescribed physical therapy treatment programs
  • Provide coordinated and comprehensive patient care, including assessment, expected outcomes, rehabilitation interventions, and evaluation within an interdisciplinary team
  • Apply research and proven techniques to examine, diagnose, prevent, or treat conditions limiting movement and daily functioning
  • Supervise PTAs, rehab technicians, students, and volunteers in accordance with regulatory standards
  • Participate in meeting work unit, department, and hospital goals and objectives
  • Submit accurate patient service charges through the billing system via the patient’s EMR
  • Complete annual education related to specialty accreditation requirements where applicable

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Current or temporary Physical Therapist License as required by the state where services will be performed
  • Maryland: Physical Therapist License, Physical Therapist Temporary License through Maryland Board of Physical Therapy Examiners, or Physical Therapist Compact License
  • Ohio: Physical Therapist License through Ohio Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Athletic Training Board or Physical Therapist Compact License
  • Pennsylvania: Physical Therapist License, Temporary Physical Therapist License through Pennsylvania State Board of Physical Therapy, or Physical Therapist Compact License
  • West Virginia: Physical Therapist License, Physical Therapist Temporary License through West Virginia Board of Physical Therapists, or Physical Therapist Compact License
  • Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date
  • Ability to organize and prioritize time and tasks to achieve a well-coordinated work effort and effectively meet work schedules
  • Ability to integrate multiple factors that may impact patient care
  • Ability to meet physical demands including lifting, moving, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, and carrying materials and equipment weighing 40+ lbs
  • Ability to perform required visual functions including close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and adjusting focus
  • Ability to work in an environment involving exposure to communicable diseases, body fluids, and cleaning and laundry chemicals
