About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist the Cinematics team in crafting the next generation of epic animated films
- Animate characters to Blizzard Entertainment's high-quality standards
- Animate diverse characters and creatures in styles ranging from cartoony to realistic
- Develop high-end cinematic animations with Directors, Animation Supervisors, and Leads
- Support and evolve the Cinematics team with constructive technical and artistic feedback
- Work collaboratively with peers on movies and games
Requirements
What you’ll need- 7+ years' experience in game development, television, or film industry using Maya or equivalent 3D program
- Experience working with Directors, Animation Supervisors, and Leads developing, defining, and maintaining high-end cinematic animations
- Demo reel demonstrating high quality hand-keyed animations through solid body mechanics and engaging performances
- Solid grasp of body mechanics and character acting
- Mastery of the 12 principles of animation
- Passion for film, animation, and video games
- Self-motivation, good communication skills, and a great team-player attitude
- Artistic skills in storyboarding, gesture drawing, 2D animation, and composition are extra points
- Technical skills in rigging, scripting, and understanding of pipeline are extra points
- Physical skills in acting, martial arts, and choreography are extra points
- Film making skills in cinematography, pre-visualization, editing, and story writing are extra points
- Understanding of FX, particles, cloth, and hair as they contribute to character performance and 2D and 3D animation
