About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Enhance the current land use planning decisions database
- Transform the system into a more effective web mapping application
- Ensure quick and easy data retrieval through the existing IT infrastructure
- Utilize Power BI to create interactive and dynamic reports and dashboards
- Integrate Power BI with ArcGIS for enhanced mapping and spatial analysis
- Explore Azure Maps
- Create and maintain data and metadata management automation scripts and batch processes using federal metadata tools, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, Python, R, SQL scripts, and/or other data and metadata management software
- Develop processes to improve data retrieval speeds by analyzing current data processing and infrastructure, including ArcGIS Server, SDE, and ArcGIS Portal through the ESRI Experience Application
- Develop and improve Power BI apps to access data and create reports from geospatial analysis in conjunction with ESRI Experience Apps
- Support anticipated federal programs and client requirements, with work arrangements and start dates varying by contract award, onboarding, and client need
Requirements
What you’ll need- Mid-to-senior technical labor category experience as GIS Developer, GIS DevOps Specialist, Geospatial Application Developer, Geospatial Scripting and Programming Specialist, or related role
- Power BI administration and development
- ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Online
- Metadata and data governance
- Cloud integration and Azure services
- Database optimization and data architecture
- Information security and compliance
- Technical documentation and training
- Stakeholder engagement and customer support
- Geospatial analysis and cartographic production
- 5 years of application development experience preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, or related field
- Preferred: experience supporting federal land-use planning, environmental management, or natural resource programs
- Preferred: knowledge of federal geospatial policies, standards, and mission-support systems
- Preferred: experience with Azure Maps, including vector tiles, routing, geocoding, spatial operations, and cloud-based mapping services
- Preferred: familiarity with AI and emerging technology guidance for federal environmental, planning, and geospatial programs
