About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Conduct discreet, comprehensive, and detailed surveillance investigations by vehicle or on foot
- Provide prompt, high-quality service to clients
- Respond to client requests using sound strategies that comply with Xpera policies
- Conduct investigations in alignment with client objectives and consult management as needed
- Plan assignments, analyze files, collect evidence, and prepare reports
- Manage timelines and budgets to meet deadlines and control costs
- Prepare accurate and detailed notes and reports in accordance with Xpera standards
- Collect professional-quality video and photographic evidence
- Obtain information legally, ethically, and confidentially
- Testify in court or legal proceedings as required
- Maintain the vehicle and equipment in good working order
Requirements
What you’ll need- Postsecondary education or an equivalent combination of training and relevant experience
- Minimum of 2 years of field surveillance investigative experience preferred
- Experience in a customer-focused environment
- Law enforcement experience is an asset
- Valid Private Investigator Security License in the applicable province of employment
- Valid driver’s licence with a good driving record
- Knowledge of the Canadian court system, insurance law, and privacy legislation is an asset
- Understanding of risk analysis and threat assessments
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
