About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Coordinate and manage construction schedules for various projects.
  • Participate in all phases of the construction planning and scheduling process, including schedule development and ongoing updates.
  • Conduct forensic analysis of project schedules, contemporaneous documentation, and construction costs.
  • Inspect construction project sites and evaluate project progress.
  • Review and organize large amounts of construction project documents and data.
  • Perform schedule delay analysis to establish the cause and extent of delays and resolve construction delay claims.
  • Evaluate construction productivity and progress data, extended general conditions, and expediting expenses.
  • Assess the impact of project changes and schedule delays and communicate findings.
  • Monitor and manage timelines, expenses, and other factors critical to operational efficiency and cost management during construction.
  • Prepare technical project reports by reviewing and synthesizing relevant information.
  • Maintain job files, documentation, and other relevant deliverables.
  • Interface regularly with department employees, contractors, and clients.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management or engineering.
  • Minimum of 2+ years' experience managing scheduling projects within the construction or engineering industry.
  • Experience using critical path method (CPM) techniques to analyze construction project schedules.
  • Previous experience with builder’s risk insurance policies, construction claims management, and managing contractors.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project, Oracle Primavera 6, and ASTA Powerproject.
  • Ability to travel as needed to project sites and client offices (approx. 25-35%).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team towards a common purpose.
  • Strong communications skills, with the ability to interface with various stakeholders and clients.
  • EIT or PE, PMP, and PSP certifications are considered a plus.
