About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Conduct strategic analyses of legal proceedings, identifying risks, opportunities, and the feasibility of settlement
- Lead settlement negotiations in defensive litigation matters, presenting and evaluating offers and counteroffers
- Work directly with attorneys, parties, and other stakeholders involved in negotiations
- Prepare settlement proposals tailored to the specific circumstances of each case
- Conduct legal and financial assessments of cases, taking into account the authority levels, parameters, and guidelines established by the client
- Analyze scenarios and procedural information to support decision-making and define negotiation strategies
- Keep internal systems and client platforms up to date and accurately maintained, ensuring information traceability
- Monitor the progress of negotiations and the related procedural developments
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience negotiating legal settlements
- Experience analyzing cases and working in litigation
- Experience with high-volume or mass litigation is preferred
- Experience in supplemental healthcare will be considered an advantage
- Strong analytical, argumentative, negotiation, and communication skills
- Organization and attention to detail in managing information and deadlines
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience negotiating settlements
- Experience with defensive litigation matters
- Experience with high-volume (mass) settlement negotiations
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
