Key responsibilities & impact

Perform programming, development, and integration assignments independently with minimal supervision
Provide programming, system leadership, guidance, and assistance to other team members
Work independently on complex processes and modules used by one or more programs or systems
Develop major system modules or programs based on requirements and user stories
Collaborate with senior developers and architects to design and implement scalable application solutions
Develop, test, and debug software components and applications
Ensure code quality through unit testing and code reviews
Design and implement PostgreSQL database schemas, queries, and transactions
Design and contribute to high-level and low-level application designs
Investigate and resolve defects and issues reported by QA
Use version control systems for code management and collaborate with team members
Follow industry coding standards and best practices

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of experience; specifically 5 to 8 years of application development experience in Java and J2EE-related technologies
Strong proficiency in Core Java, Spring MVC, Spring Boot, Spring Security, Hibernate/Spring Data JPA
Experience developing web applications with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and React/Angular
Experience with Maven
Experience implementing and integrating logging frameworks such as Log4j/Logback
Knowledge of securing Java applications using OAuth2, JWT, LDAP, and SAML
Experience using AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot for software development and testing
Understanding and experience using AI/GenAI for automation
Experience with unit testing using JUnit and Mockito
Experience testing services using Postman and Swagger
Understanding of monolithic and microservices architectures and design patterns
Understanding of creating microservices using Docker/Kubernetes
Knowledge and experience with AWS or Microsoft Azure
Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and application deployment procedures on premises or cloud servers
Experience with version control systems such as Git
Experience working on an Agile team using Azure DevOps boards
Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Analytics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field
Strong verbal and written communication, presentation, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and debugging skills
Ability and desire to learn quickly
Good team player
