About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead an EDI team operating 24x5
- Monitor daily integration processes across EDI protocols, SAP IDoc interfaces, related ports, and application-to-application and business-to-business technologies
- Analyze and resolve integration issues using monitoring tools with internal teams and the EDI managed services partner
- Manage relationships with trading partner EDI coordinators
- Negotiate project scope, timelines, and delivery schedules with internal teams and external partners
- Coordinate and deliver EDI change requests aligned with business needs
- Lead project planning sessions with customers, business analysts, and team members
- Define and analyze business requirements
- Adhere to standard IT procedures and compliance practices
- Guide the managed services partner on EDI mapping specifications
- Prepare functional specifications, test plans, user documentation, technical integration documentation, and control plans
- Prepare and execute integration test plans with robust test environments and simulated EDI test data
- Coordinate testing activities with the managed services partner
- Participate in team meetings and project reviews
- Provide off-hour support for critical integration issues and project implementations
- Maintain and upgrade skills in EDI, SAP integration, APIs, and AI-driven automation tools
- Propose API-based approaches for secure, real-time data exchange with suppliers and customers
- Design, develop, and maintain integration solutions using IBM Sterling Integrator
- Configure, test, and deploy B2B and EDI transactions
- Monitor and troubleshoot integration processes
- Lead future-state solution design based on customer requirements
- Create process maps and document changes in roles and responsibilities
- Develop and execute testing plans with customers
- Contribute to tools, methodologies, and implementation presentations
- Perform other duties as assigned according to team or country-specific requirements
Requirements
What you’ll need- 8+ years of experience in EDI areas
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college/university
- Experience with IBM Sterling Integrator
- Strong knowledge of IBM Sterling B2B Integrator
- Knowledge of IBM Sterling File Gateway Business Process with different services (BPML) and adapters
- Knowledge of EDI standards such as ANSI X12 and EDIFACT
- Ability to troubleshoot EDI transactions and technical issues independently
- Experience in requirements gathering, design, mapping, and development of new maps and components for B2B integration
- Experience with end-to-end testing with customers/trading partners and backend systems
- Excellent experience working directly with customers
- Understanding of EDI transactions for retail, logistics, and warehouse transactions
- Hands-on experience with mapping, CSV, IDOC, flat files, XML, and JSON
- SFTP and AS2 hands-on experience creating setups
- Hands-on experience with ITSM tools
- Experience with automotive industry standards and processes
- Strong communication, listening, and facilitation skills
- Ability to organize, design, develop, and deliver projects
- Ability to collaborate with internal and external subject matter experts
- Experience in a continuous improvement environment
- Experience with lean processes and tools, including value stream mapping, A3 project management, visual management, Pareto Analysis, and fishbone diagrams
- Flexible hours, including some weekend or late hours
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, Visio, PowerPoint, and Project
