About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Create 2D drawings of machine parts and tooling from previously designed models
Apply functional dimensioning and tolerances appropriate to each part’s requirements
Prepare complete drawing packages, including assembly drawings, detail drawings, and bills of materials
Finalize ongoing mechanical design studies by taking over previously designed assemblies
Adapt each drawing to the applicable manufacturing methods and processes, including machining, sheet metal fabrication, and treatments
Prepare RFQ packages for suppliers
Check the consistency and completeness of drawings before release
Liaise with mechanical engineers to resolve outstanding design issues
Ensure documents are updated and traceable in the team’s tools, particularly Inventor

Requirements

What you’ll need

Experienced mechanical design drafter
Comfortable creating tooling drawings, ideally in the aerospace or special-purpose machinery sectors
Strong knowledge of functional dimensioning
Understanding of part manufacturing methods and processes
Proficient in 2D drafting and drawing package creation
Able to finalize designs based on previously designed parts and assemblies
Experience with Inventor is a plus but not essential
Good command of SolidWorks or CATIA sufficient to become proficient quickly
