About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Learn how to effectively carry out and manage Young Life ministry through formal training and direct field ministry experience
  • Develop a yearly personal growth plan and actively participate in spiritual development and the Young Life community
  • Lead teams and individuals in spiritual development
  • Meet regularly with volunteer leaders and area leadership
  • Recruit, train, supervise and develop volunteer leaders
  • Model excellence in contact work, club, Campaigners and camping
  • Assist with leader, team leader and committee training
  • Raise financial support and maintain donor care practices
  • Communicate ministry updates to personal donor partners
  • Network with principals, pastors, parents and potential committee members
  • Plan and execute area fundraising events
  • Lead Young Life club and Campaigners/discipleship ministry
  • Implement summer and school-season camping strategies
  • Serve on a summer assignment at a Young Life camp each year
  • Manage finances and maintain accurate information on kids, leaders and donors
  • Provide clear, prompt, appropriate and professional communication
  • Set and review yearly strategic ministry plans and initiatives
  • Adhere to Young Life policies and procedures and perform other assigned duties

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Young Life requires all employees to sign a Statement of Faith
  • Must profess a belief in Jesus Christ as personal Savior and Lord
  • Must subscribe to Young Life's Statement of Faith and required staff policies
  • Experience in direct ministry
  • Proven relational skills with both kids and adults
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Must be able to handle camp conditions including heat/cold, dirt, long hours, hiking, horseback riding, boating and more
  • College degree preferred
