About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop a yearly personal growth plan and maintain a vibrant spiritual life
- Maintain active participation in a church community and Young Life’s spiritual life
- Lead teams and individuals in spiritual development
- Partner with the Regional Director and Committee to cast vision for reaching every kid
- Build unity and provide vision and direction through gatherings with committee, leaders, and staff
- Recruit, train, supervise, develop, and evaluate staff and volunteer leaders
- Provide quality summer staff, work crew, and adult guests for summer camps
- Model excellence in contact work, club, Campaigners, and camping
- Lead the TDS team and committee in finding ministry partners
- Develop and lead the area fundraising strategy and donor communications
- Raise funds for the local ministry vision and maintain a one-month cash reserve minimum
- Build the Young Life brand through public relations
- Coordinate and conduct quality fundraising and ministry events
- Engage in all three levels of contact work
- Lead or co-lead a model Young Life club and supervise an effective Campaigner ministry
- Observe and evaluate schools and ministries in the local area yearly
- Maximize Gospel proclamation through camping opportunities
- Serve on a summer assignment each summer
- Manage finances using mission-wide applications
- Maintain accurate records on kids, leaders, and donors
- Provide clear, prompt, appropriate, and professional communication
- Set and review yearly strategic ministry plans and initiatives
- Perform other assigned duties and accept short- and long-term projects
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must profess a belief in Jesus Christ as personal Savior and Lord
- Must subscribe to Young Life’s Statement of Faith and required staff policies
- Must be ready, willing and able to fulfill ministry functions as required
- Must refrain from conduct and statements that detract from Young Life’s biblical standards
- Must abide by Young Life policies and practices, including those related to religious belief or ministry activities
- Requires 1+ year of related ministry experience
- Demonstrated ability to build and lead teams
- Proven leadership skills
- Proven relational skills with both kids and adults
- A call to reach kids with the Gospel
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Must complete Core Training - Phase One within 36 months of hire date
- Must be able to handle camp conditions including heat/cold, dirt, long hours, hiking, horseback riding, and boating
- College degree preferred
