About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, develop, test, and operate core APIs for secure customer payments
  • Build services supporting deferred payment options and other payment products
  • Interface directly with merchant systems
  • Ensure products comply with demanding fintech industry standards
  • Create highly scalable solutions and own the entire application lifecycle
  • Design technical solutions within the team’s architecture
  • Implement, test, and operate services in production
  • Apply continuous integration, code quality, code reviews, and test-driven development
  • Select technologies and tools for large-scale cloud applications on AWS using microservices architecture
  • Share knowledge with colleagues and help develop their technical skills
  • Contribute to payment processing, checkout experience, risk steering, and backend reconciliation

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Degree in computer science or a related field, or experience as an IT Specialist
  • Interest in building and operating production services
  • Experience building production services; preferably in e-commerce or payments
  • Willingness to actively learn new technologies and practices
  • Ability to coordinate and communicate effectively with peers and beyond team boundaries
  • Great communication skills
  • Ability to lead technical decision-making with the team
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a logical and pragmatic attitude
  • Familiarity with the Java ecosystem and frameworks (e.g. Spring Boot) is ideal
  • Knowledge of microservice architecture, REST services, and asynchronous distributed systems is ideal
