About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Own the month-end close calendar, posting accurate journal entries and helping deliver consolidated financial statements
Prepare and reconcile balance-sheet accounts, including cash, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, accruals, and land leases
Manage the accounts payable inbox and daily cash matching in NetSuite
Support the Controller during the year-end audit
Partner with FP&A to refine departmental budgets and provide variance analyses for cost control
Identify and automate repetitive workflows, such as invoice coding, bank reconciliation matching, and expense categorization, using AI-enabled tools
Ensure leadership has clear, current financial insight for reporting to investors and regulators
Maintain accurate, timely, and audit-ready books

Requirements

What you’ll need

At least 2 years of hands-on GL accounting experience (public or private)
Eagerness to learn and gain a stronger understanding of US GAAP
Ability to research and resolve accounting issues independently
CPA or CPA candidate strongly preferred
Comfortable leveraging AI assistants such as ChatGPT/Gemini to draft, review, and validate work
Eagerness to learn and incorporate the latest AI tools to streamline processes
Extreme attention to detail
Process improvement mindset, including NetSuite and Excel automations
Ability to translate accounting concepts into clear insights for scientists, project managers, and executives
Comfortable setting priorities, hitting deadlines, and asking for clarification in a dynamic, high-growth environment
