About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Take product ideas from concept to production using coding agents such as Claude Code and Codex
Translate business needs into clear requirements and build and ship solutions
Build and maintain Java backend services using Spring and Dropwizard, primarily microservices
Run services on GCP serverless infrastructure, including Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, Firestore, and Cloud Armor
Automate patches, upgrades, and routine work in an agent-first development model
Maintain steady feature delivery and improve DORA metrics with a smaller team
Contribute to frontend development with React, Next.js, Node.js, GraphQL, and the BFF pattern when needed
Contribute to mobile development with Flutter and Dart when needed
Work in a small team on a time-boxed AI-driven product development experiment
Help the client learn what works in agent-first software delivery

Requirements

What you’ll need

Extensive experience in software development
Strong Java skills and experience building microservices and APIs
Experience with the Spring or Dropwizard frameworks
Daily, hands-on use of coding agents such as Claude Code or Codex
Judgment to review and test coding-agent output
Product mindset and ability to deliver business needs without a long hand-off chain
Experience with cloud-native and serverless delivery on GCP, including Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, and Firestore, or equivalent AWS or Azure services
Experience with CI/CD and event-driven design
Experience with MySQL, MongoDB, or similar databases
Fluent written and spoken English
Nice to have: front-end experience with React, Next.js, Node.js, GraphQL, and the BFF pattern
Nice to have: mobile experience with Flutter and Dart
Nice to have: Cloud Armor or other GCP security tooling experience
Nice to have: experience shipping LLM-powered features
Nice to have: marketplace or high-traffic consumer product experience
