About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop and maintain high-quality, efficient, scalable, and accessible Android applications
Own the Android development lifecycle, including planning, implementation, testing, release, and monitoring
Work within a cross-functional domain team owning customer experiences across web, Android, and iOS
Collaborate with engineers across Android, iOS, web, and backend development
Contribute to the Angular/TypeScript-based webshop when needed
Collaborate on domain-level technical solutions to create consistent customer experiences
Manage Android app releases and monitor performance through Firebase
Stay current with developments in the Android ecosystem and introduce relevant technologies and patterns
Share Android expertise through code reviews, technical guidance, pair programming, and engineering practices
Learn from colleagues across web, iOS, and backend development and contribute to shared ownership and knowledge exchange

Requirements

What you’ll need

At least 3 years of hands-on experience with Kotlin, the Android SDK, and widely used Jetpack libraries
Experience with Jetpack Compose and modern Android development practices
Expertise in design patterns and architectural approaches such as Clean Architecture and MVVM
Proficiency writing testable code and Unit, Integration, and UI tests
Experience with RESTful APIs, JSON, and web service integrations
Familiarity with modern development and CI/CD pipelines and tools, including GitHub Actions
Strong analytical mindset with advanced debugging and problem-solving abilities
Solid understanding of best-practice UX principles and design details, including UI placement, layouts, and interaction patterns
Curiosity about technologies outside the Android ecosystem
Comfort contributing to web development with TypeScript and Angular; willingness to learn and contribute is essential
Good verbal and written communication skills in English
Proficiency in German or willingness to learn German is a plus
