About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own the roadmap for shared platform services and data capabilities
  • Understand platform needs across product teams, unblock high-value use cases, and drive consistency without unnecessarily constraining innovation
  • Maintain understanding of domain models, datasets, services, APIs, and platform dependencies
  • Prioritize and communicate trade-offs to engineering, product, and leadership
  • Partner with engineering to build reliable, scalable APIs, services, pipelines, and interfaces
  • Define canonical entities, relationships, contracts, events, permissions, and semantics across the data lifecycle
  • Improve discovery, understanding, and consumption of shared capabilities by application teams
  • Define standards for data quality, lineage, governance, discoverability, documentation, reliability, and developer experience
  • Determine which capabilities belong at the platform layer versus within individual products or verticals
  • Evaluate AI and agent-based systems’ interaction with company data and platform capabilities
  • Define success metrics and measure adoption, reliability, reuse, and business impact
  • Collaborate with product engineering, data engineering, data science, security, and product teams

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 8+ years of professional experience, including 5+ years in product management
  • Meaningful experience owning technical platform, data, infrastructure, developer, or AI-enabling products
  • Experience building and shipping enterprise B2B SaaS products or platforms used by multiple teams or product surfaces
  • Fluency with data modeling, schemas, APIs, event systems, distributed systems, data pipelines, warehouses, or analytics infrastructure
  • Ability to participate in architecture and technical design discussions with senior engineers and data practitioners
  • Experience making build-vs-buy, abstraction, architecture, reliability, or scalability trade-offs
  • Ability to translate complex technical capabilities into clear product requirements and platform interfaces
  • Experience delivering ambiguous, cross-functional programs where alignment and influence mattered more than organizational authority
  • Quantitative reasoning skills and ability to define platform value metrics
  • Understanding of enterprise security, permissions, privacy, governance, compliance, and reliability expectations
  • Preferred: experience with geospatial data, imagery, remote sensing, computer vision, or asset inspection platforms
  • Preferred: experience with high-volume or complex data processing systems
  • Preferred: experience defining domain models or shared data architectures across multiple products
  • Preferred: experience building platforms supporting machine learning, generative AI, or agent-based systems
  • Preferred: experience with data lineage, observability, governance, or master-data concepts
  • Preferred: experience with operational systems connecting digital workflows to physical-world activity
  • Must currently live in Boston or the San Francisco Bay area
  • Must be eligible to work in the USA; application asks whether visa sponsorship or transfer is required
