About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support Senior Cost Engineers and Product Cost Engineers during the Product Development Process, including Design to Cost and Cost Benchmarks
- Generate best-practice product cost calculations using a total-cost approach
- Calculate cost impacts associated with technical changes
- Execute internal and external manufacturing process validations and evaluate cost performance across Electro-Mechanics, Forgings, Machining, Stamping, and Castings
- Identify measures for optimizing cost structures
- Collect and document technology-specific master data with internal and external partners
- Support the definition and continuous development of group-wide Cost Engineering reference processes
- Support continuous development of technology-specific Cost Engineering tools
- Participate in international and cross-functional projects and steer subprojects
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Production, or Automotive engineering with 4–10 years of experience
- Studies of Engineering science or comparable education
- First work experience in a responsibility suitable for Cost Engineering, such as Production Engineering or Methods department
- Knowledge/specialization in manufacturing technologies including Electro-Mechanics, Forgings (Hot & Cold), Machining, Stamping, and Castings
- Understanding of E-axles and Automatic Transmissions
- Willingness to continuously maintain knowledge at state-of-the-art/best-practice level
- Distinct analytical capabilities
- Solution-oriented, accurate, and self-dependent way of working
- Ability to work in teams
- Strong communication and networking skills in local and international contexts
- Willingness to travel as needed
- Knowledge in Project Management
