About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Deliver proactive HR support across the organisation
- Own core HR processes and provide first-line guidance to managers and employees
- Maintain HR records, including employee information, contracts, leave, and training records
- Manage recruitment activities, including job postings, application screening, interview scheduling, and candidate communication
- Prepare new-hire paperwork and conduct orientation sessions
- Coordinate onboarding with hiring managers
- Manage the full recruitment lifecycle for selected roles, including drafting job descriptions and advising on selection methods
- Provide interview guidance and best practices
- Prepare employment contracts, offer letters, and termination letters
- Support employee handbook and HR policy updates
- Ensure HR documentation and processes comply with UK employment law and best practices
- Produce HR reports and analyse trends in absence, turnover, training, and employee demographics
- Support development and implementation of HR systems and process improvements
- Resolve employee inquiries and concerns, escalating issues to the Managing Director or Head of Corporate Services
- Promote employee engagement, team-building, and well-being initiatives
- Research and administer employee perks
- Advise employees and managers on performance, conduct, attendance, and general HR queries
- Support employee relations processes, including investigations, disciplinaries, grievances, and probation reviews
- Represent Zinc at high-level meetings with clients and project partners
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field
- Proven experience (1 year) as an HR Coordinator or in a similar administrative role
- Knowledge of HR processes and best practices
- Excellent organisational skills with keen attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Right to work in the UK
- Disclose any previous disciplinary action resulting from substantiated safeguarding or workplace investigations if offered the job
- Undergo background checks including employment verification, sexual offender registry checks where available, identity confirmation, and anti-terrorism vetting
- Submit a cover letter addressing each requirement
