About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, document, and implement API standards and best practices for enterprise APIs
- Collaborate with the API management team to implement API gateway capabilities, including traceability, monitoring, security, and analytics
- Design and maintain enterprise Search with natural language capabilities and scalability across multiple resources and datasets
- Write and maintain existing and new enterprise APIs using polyglot architecture and languages
- Understand and improve the software development and deployment lifecycle for the API management team
- Catalog existing APIs
- Create and maintain a developer portal for enterprise APIs
- Implement and automate unit, functional, integration, and contract testing for internal and external APIs
- Write high-quality, scalable, maintainable, and performant code
- Conduct code reviews
- Make technical decisions and provide technical guidance to the development team
- Integrate the enterprise IAM solution for internal and external APIs
- Collaborate with developers in the API management team to create and implement CI/CD processes for enterprise APIs and API gateway capabilities
Requirements
What you’ll need- 6+ years of software development experience
- Experience developing and deploying in a cloud-native environment
- Experience with .NET, Java, and TypeScript
- Experience working with API gateways such as Apigee and Kong
- Working knowledge of DevOps tasks, including environment provisioning, CI/CD pipelines, and application monitoring
- Working knowledge of fully containerized environments is a bonus
- Ability to work and travel independently
- Strategic thinking skills
- Expert-level communication, interpersonal, critical thinking, and troubleshooting skills
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment
- Strong understanding of software development principles and design patterns
- Proven experience designing and maintaining versioned APIs
- Experience with AWS services such as Lambda, EC2, and S3
- Ability to stay current with trends and technologies in API development
