About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Maintain and enhance Zodia Custody's enterprise risk management framework
- Oversee subsidiary risk programmes across global jurisdictions
- Drive risk governance activities and embed risk management principles throughout the business
- Lead and coordinate risk assessments across operational, strategic, product and crypto asset risk domains
- Facilitate Risk and Control Self-Assessments, control testing and risk identification
- Monitor emerging risks, regulatory developments and financial crime trends affecting the digital asset ecosystem
- Partner with business leaders to develop risk mitigation strategies
- Lead SOC 1 Type II audit activities and coordinate internal and external stakeholder engagements
- Support SOC 2, ISO 27001 and broader risk management assurance programmes
- Work with Internal Audit, external auditors and regulators on assurance outcomes
- Prepare and present risk reporting to senior management, risk committees and boards
- Oversee material risk incidents, remediation activities and risk action plans
- Deliver reporting and recommendations for executive decision-making
- Support operational resilience and business continuity capabilities
- Collaborate with Engineering, Product, Operations and Client Services to strengthen resilience across critical services and processes
Requirements
What you’ll need- 7+ years of risk management experience within financial services
- At least 2 years' experience working within the digital assets, crypto or blockchain ecosystem
- Strong understanding of enterprise risk management principles, frameworks and governance models
- Experience operating within a Three Lines of Defence environment
- Demonstrated experience implementing and enhancing risk programmes across organisations at differing levels of maturity
- Experience engaging with senior leadership, boards, auditors and regulators
- Proactive problem-solving and ownership
- Ability to operate in a fast-moving, evolving environment
- Ability to balance commercial objectives with effective risk management
- Skilled at building relationships across functions, jurisdictions and cultures
- Excellent communication skills, including translating complex risk topics into clear, actionable insights for senior stakeholders
- Strong organisation, project management and prioritisation skills
- Nice to have: experience in a high-growth fintech, digital asset or regulated technology environment
- Nice to have: professional risk or digital assets certifications
- Nice to have: experience supporting international subsidiaries across multiple regulatory jurisdictions
- Nice to have: exposure to operational resilience, technology risk or crypto asset risk frameworks
