About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support vehicle-level safety targets aligned with the Zoox safety strategy
  • Own occupant safety CAE and support balancing with other Vehicle Integration Attributes
  • Set up vehicle, dummy, and restraints models and coordinate model builds
  • Support virtual/physical correlation
  • Support overall vehicle structural analysis across various attributes
  • Support virtual DVPs and execute accordingly
  • Suggest countermeasure design solutions
  • Generate virtual analysis engineering reports
  • Support report-outs at project gateways
  • Lead small teams and weekly cadence meetings

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Masters degree in mechanical engineering, or related field
  • Experience with FMVSS, USNCAP, IIHS, ECE, EU legal and consumer safety protocols
  • Extensive experience in virtual development in occupant safety CAE using LS-Dyna
  • Extensive experience with BetaCAE, Oasys, LS-Dyna, FE dummies, and LS-Opt
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Experience with basic Python coding
