About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Drive financial analysis of strategic investments, maintain short- and long-term financial models, and develop reporting for internal and external stakeholders
- Partner with Manufacturing groups, Supply Chain, and Accounting teams on financial planning and MEC activities
- Own manufacturing KPIs, including inventory, BOM, and open PO planning
- Manage monthly S&OP cycles and product-costing close activities
- Review purchase requisitions for U.S. GAAP and Zoox accounting-policy compliance
- Conduct purchase-order pre-approval compliance checks against budget and forecast models, escalating discrepancies
- Conduct Forecast vs. Actuals analysis during monthly and quarterly closes
- Review agreements and contracts to determine PR structure and coding, and restructure PRs and POs as policies change
- Partner with business owners to resolve incomplete or non-compliant requisitions and guide requesters on accounting policy
- Own open PO review and cleanup, including aging analysis, stale-PO closure, and PO true-ups
- Support month-end close by providing PO and receipt data to Accounting and identifying unreceived goods and services for accrual
- Build and maintain committed-spend-versus-budget trackers by cost center
- Track and report compliance metrics to Finance leadership
- Analyze large financial datasets using SAP, Anaplan, and other reporting systems to provide actionable operational insights
Requirements
What you’ll need- BA/BS degree, preferably in Finance, Accounting, or a quantitative field
- 2+ years of relevant work experience in finance operations, procurement, accounting, or FP&A
- Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP, particularly expense classification and capitalization
- Hands-on experience with a major ERP system such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite
- Experience with spend management or procurement software such as Coupa or Ariba
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and analysis of large datasets
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to explain accounting policy clearly to non-finance stakeholders
- Detail-oriented and reliable, with ability to quickly adapt in a fast-moving environment
- Bonus: Public accounting experience, preferably Big 4
- Bonus: High-growth startup and/or public company accounting experience
- Bonus: Manufacturing and/or fulfillment accounting experience
- Bonus: Experience supporting a procure-to-pay system implementation or accounting policy rollout
