About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead a highly technical energy team
- Develop and communicate strategies for full vehicle energy management, including subsystem operating points, energy-saving features, thermal integration, and driving cycles
- Cascade energy strategy requirements to various subsystems
- Cooperate with advanced hardware, thermal, and powertrain teams on energy-efficient solutions and integration
- Lead energy simulation and testing activities, including validation and model correlation
- Integrate the energy model into the Zoox simulation environment for end-to-end range simulation
- Monitor the energy roadmap as the company evolves to provide robotaxi service
- Lead energy management for a complete vehicle and the robotaxi fleet
- Forecast and optimize driving range with strategy and operations teams
- Drive end-to-end energy strategy implementation cross-functionally
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master’s degree in engineering, physics, or a related field
- 10+ years of solid experience in vehicle energy management
- Experience in energy simulation and testing
- Experience leading and guiding a vehicle development program
- Skilled in data analysis, documentation, and reporting
- Proficiency with Smartsheet, Jira, and Google Workspace
- Previous leadership experience establishing technical roadmaps, energy budgets, and individual performance targets
- Experience in Technical Program Management
- Experience in electric or autonomous vehicle development preferred
