About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Architect and deliver complex, high-value features across the Zone platform
  • Lead AI integrations and select AI workflows for implementation and debugging
  • Identify technical tradeoffs and choose designs that reduce long-term complexity
  • Decompose vague requirements into staged execution plans
  • Translate technical debt and architectural choices into business consequences
  • Refactor fragile code paths and establish higher standards for review and documentation
  • Anticipate and resolve architectural bottlenecks
  • Mentor mid-level and junior engineers through code reviews and design guidance
  • Own and deliver OKRs and KPIs, including outcomes, quality, and timelines
  • Collaborate with Product, Architecture, and FinOps leads
  • Define patterns for multi-entity consolidation and global tax compliance across NOAM, EMEA, and APAC

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 6+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • Fintech, Payments, or ERP-integrated SaaS experience is a big plus
  • Expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript
  • Ability to lead complex projects from ambiguity to successful production delivery in a globally distributed environment
  • Experience designing testable solutions for high-consequence business logic
  • Effectiveness in fully remote, asynchronous, globally distributed environments with high autonomy and disciplined self-direction
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills across time zones
