About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design sophisticated architectures for data and AI projects
- Implement architectures together with the team and inspire stakeholders
- Apply expertise in data and AI platforms, data products, data mesh, data security, and data and AI governance
- Apply agile DevOps, DataOps, and MLOps practices
- Design scalable cloud solutions on AWS, Azure, and GCP, as well as on-premises solutions
- Lead teams in flagship projects using data engineering expertise
- Design optimal data structures and pipelines that make data AI-ready
- Bring ML and GenAI solutions from prototype to production readiness
- Focus on evaluation, observability, traceability, and reproducibility
- Promote understanding of AI and data technologies internally and externally
- Assist in developing junior colleagues
- Shape Zühlke’s offerings and drive service development
- Engage in pre-sales and monitor market trends
- Educate clients on data and AI possibilities
Requirements
What you’ll need- Solid expertise in AI and data solutions
- Deep understanding of the possibilities and limitations of AI and data solutions
- Passion for sustainable software architecture in data and AI platforms
- Experience taking responsibility in technical mandates
- Confident presence and strong self-motivation
- Responsibility for projects and further development of data and AI competencies
- Excellent communication skills in both German and English
- Ability to consider availability, flexibility, security, economic aspects, and code-level impact in architectural decisions
- Technical degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a comparable field
- Proficiency in Python, Spark, Iceberg, Delta Lake, dbt, and streaming with Kafka
- Proficiency with Databricks, Microsoft Fabric and Foundry, Amazon SageMaker, or Snowflake
- Familiarity with GenAI tooling such as vector stores and agent frameworks
