About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Produce accurate, timely and well-explained actuarial analyses and reporting outputs
  • Ensure data used in calculations is complete, accurate and of high quality
  • Support actuarial reporting, analysis and project work across the team
  • Communicate technical findings and calculations clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders through reports, presentations, meetings and written correspondence
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Maintain and enhance actuarial processes, controls and documentation
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support development of more efficient ways of working
  • Work across corporate centre reporting, regulatory reporting, business planning, product pricing, risk management and strategic projects
  • Deliver accurate and insightful financial information for regulators, senior management, corporate stakeholders and other key audiences

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Strong degree (or equivalent qualification) in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a related discipline
  • Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Progress towards professional actuarial qualifications is desirable
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience of Access or other data analysis tools considered advantageous
  • Keen interest in data analytics and turning data into meaningful insights
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly and concisely
  • Proactive, curious and self-motivated approach to learning and development
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Mindset focused on continuous improvement, with confidence to challenge existing processes and identify opportunities for enhancement
