About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Review new claims and ensure all required information is complete
Make initial contact
Respond promptly to emails and phone calls to address questions or concerns
Process incoming mail and handle relevant documentation efficiently
Manage medical requests and coordinate with providers as needed
Evaluate claims for closure and make decisions that support positive outcomes
Manage a workers’ compensation claims caseload consisting of low to moderate exposure
Interpret, investigate, and evaluate policies and coverage issues
Build partnerships with customers and brokers and may align to specific accounts

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s Degree and no prior experience required in the Claims area, OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and 2 or more years of experience in the Customer Service area, OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and no prior experience required in the Claims area
Must obtain and maintain required adjuster license(s)
Experience with Microsoft Office
Preferred: Insurance industry, medical terminology, or medical billing knowledge
Preferred: Analytical and organizational skills
Preferred: Ability to multi-task
Preferred: Strong communication skills
Preferred: Ability to adapt to a changing environment
Remote position for a strong candidate with a background in insurance, customer service, multi-tasking, and experience in medical terminology and/or medical coding in California
