About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Handle all phases of General Liability litigation, from initial evaluation through resolution
- Partner with claims professionals to develop case strategy
- Conduct discovery
- Negotiate settlements
- Appear at hearings
- Advocate for clients throughout the litigation process
- Senior-level attorneys may mentor colleagues and serve as technical resources on complex matters
Requirements
What you’ll need- Juris Doctor and 5 or more years of litigation experience
- Member in good standing of the California State Bar
- Experience with Microsoft Office and Adobe
- Experience using Lexis, Westlaw, or similar legal research platforms
- Knowledge of the insurance industry, claims environment, insurance defense litigation, and legal procedure
- GL trial experience preferred
- Strong communication and negotiation skills preferred
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities preferred
- Ability to manage a caseload independently preferred
- Experience working in a collaborative team environment preferred
- Trial, hearing, mediation, and settlement experience preferred
- For Senior Trial Attorney candidates: experience handling moderate to high-complexity matters, mentoring attorneys, and serving as a subject matter resource
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; employment sponsorship is not offered
