Senior Liability Trial Attorney

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Represent commercial insureds of a leading global insurance carrier
- Manage moderate to high-exposure General Liability cases from investigation through trial
- Handle all phases of insurance defense litigation
- Perform legal analysis, prepare pleadings, conduct discovery, and handle hearings and trials
- Develop settlement strategy and manage post-trial activities
- Manage caseloads, budgets, exposure analysis, billables, and diary review
- Work independently and mentor others
- Support the broader staff counsel function
Requirements
What you’ll need- Juris Doctor
- 7 or more years of litigation experience
- Active member of the Texas State Bar in good standing
- Experience with Microsoft Office, Adobe, Lexis, or Westlaw
- Knowledge of insurance defense litigation, claims, and the insurance industry
- Insurance defense or general commercial litigation experience, including wrongful death, commercial motor vehicle torts, products liability, premises liability, and personal injury matters
- Relevant first-chair jury trial experience
- Strong legal analysis, negotiation, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage caseloads, budgets, exposure analysis, billables, and diary review independently
- Ability to mentor, lead, and support the broader staff counsel function
