About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Handle all phases of Workers' Compensation litigation from initial evaluation through resolution
- Partner with claims professionals to develop case strategy

- Advocate for clients throughout the litigation process
- Senior-level attorneys mentor colleagues and serve as technical resources on complex matters
- Trial attorneys work on significant, complex Workers' Compensation matters for Zurich North America, a global insurance and risk management company
Requirements
What you’ll need- Juris Doctor
- Trial Attorney: 5 or more years of litigation experience
- Senior Trial Attorney: 7 or more years of litigation experience
- Member in good standing of the California State Bar
- Experience with Microsoft Office and Adobe
- Experience using Lexis, Westlaw, or similar legal research platforms
- Knowledge of the insurance industry, claims environment, insurance defense litigation, and legal procedure
- Senior Trial Attorney: ability to independently manage more complex litigation matters and provide technical guidance
- Preferred: Workers' Compensation defense experience
- Preferred: Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Preferred: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Preferred: Ability to manage a caseload independently
- Preferred: Experience working in a collaborative team environment
- Preferred: Trial, hearing, mediation, and settlement experience
- Senior preferred: experience handling moderate to high-complexity matters, mentoring attorneys, and serving as a subject matter resource
