About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own the technical delivery of a product or large, self-contained feature area, from architecture through production deployment and operation
  • Make architecture and technology decisions independently
  • Support migrations to PHP 8.5 or the AWS Cloud
  • Work on core platform components, including the PHP backend, MySQL/MariaDB, MongoDB, and Kubernetes
  • Translate customer requirements into precise specifications that coding agents can implement
  • Challenge requirements from a technical and functional perspective
  • Evaluate AI-generated output based on results and tests
  • Systematically review AI output for inconsistencies, hallucinations, and bias
  • Develop solutions as an equal partner with the Product Builder
  • Coordinate integration interfaces with other engineering teams

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Several years of experience as a Software Engineer
  • Ideally, experience with PHP as well as relational and document databases
  • Experience with MySQL/MariaDB and MongoDB
  • Experience in cloud-native development
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Azure AKS, and/or AWS EKS
  • Hands-on experience with AI coding agents: providing specifications, orchestrating agents, and reviewing output
  • Ability to independently make architecture and technology decisions for a larger area of responsibility
  • Business-fluent German and English
  • Ideally, experience modernizing legacy software systems
  • Ideally, knowledge of Responsible AI and AI governance, for example in connection with the EU AI Act
  • Ideally, experience with React, Angular, or Ionic/Capacitor
  • Ideally, experience in B2B2C environments with high availability requirements
