About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Communicate effectively and appropriately with team members and outside parties
  • Draft, review, and file legal pleadings, motions, discovery, and other litigation documents
  • Review litigation case files and pleadings to determine appropriate action
  • Advocate for client interests at various litigation settings
  • Use internal proprietary software to update and document account statuses
  • Analyze and process litigation inventory reports and files as assigned by the Managing Attorney
  • Ensure litigation workflow follows firm and client expectations
  • Comply with client and firm standard operating procedures
  • Travel to various courtrooms within the branch office footprint as required
  • Prepare for and represent clients at hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials
  • Develop case strategies, draft pleadings, conduct discovery, and present oral arguments
  • Negotiate settlements with consumers and their legal representatives
  • Evaluate case merits and assess risk exposure
  • Provide strategic legal recommendations
  • Maintain compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and court procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Admitted to practice law and in good standing in Nevada
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly motivated self-starter
  • Eagerness to learn
  • Ability to manage and prioritize a large caseload
  • Ability to communicate in a common language verbally and/or in writing
  • Ability to operate a computer, phone, or equivalent device
  • Ability to complete a minimum of a 40-hour flexible workweek schedule
  • Ability to read and comprehend position-specific documents and correspondence
  • Minimum of one year of litigation/trial experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of civil procedure preferred
  • Debt collection experience preferred
  • Prior experience in a high-volume environment preferred
  • Private location within the home free from third parties and household members
  • Stable internet service with a minimum speed of 5 Mbps or broadband cable access
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and data security standards
  • Availability during business hours
  • Compliance with the Firm’s Remote Working Policy
  • Ability to lift five pounds or greater
  • Ability to sit 90% of the workday at times
  • Ability to bend at the waist and be mobile when needed
  • Ability to concentrate and use critical thinking
