About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Target and acquire strategically important cities, particularly among Germany’s 100 largest cities, and their municipal partners
  • Research responsibilities and decision-making structures and develop tailored approaches for each target city
  • Build relationships with public administrations, management teams, municipal committees, and relevant decision-makers
  • Explain location and infrastructure concepts and demonstrate their value to municipalities
  • Clarify questions and develop solutions with specialist departments to address differing requirements
  • Define next steps, follow up on commitments, address objections, and move discussions toward decisions
  • Prepare proposals and decision documents, coordinate contract terms, and negotiate agreements through completion
  • Coordinate cities, municipal utilities, mobile network operators, project partners, and internal teams
  • Monitor developments, expansion programs, and funding opportunities in target cities
  • Document contacts, discussion status, and decision-making processes in the CRM and prepare forecasts and reports
  • Represent 5G-Synergiewerk at industry conferences and networking events

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • At least three years of experience in active acquisition, business development, key account management, or site development
  • Experience independently acquiring new customers or partners and negotiating binding agreements
  • Ideally, experience working with cities, municipalities, municipal utilities, or other public-sector organizations; alternatively, experience managing long-term partnerships involving multiple stakeholders with differing interests
  • Ability to build trust, listen attentively, address outstanding issues, request feedback, and guide conversations toward concrete outcomes
  • A proactive approach and consistent follow-up; ability to manage multiple acquisition processes in parallel and prioritize effectively
  • Confidence in presentations and negotiations, with the ability to explain complex relationships clearly
  • Interest in infrastructure and technical topics, with the ability to learn technical concepts and communicate their benefits
  • Completed university degree or commercial or technical vocational training
  • Native-level German and good English skills
  • Willingness to travel within Germany for meetings and events
