About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the Cost Policy process by modeling financial impacts of vendor cost changes and analyzing cost movement
- Manage cross-functional stages of cost policy and vendor submission reviews to ensure adherence to guidelines and timelines
- Provide proactive insights and analytical support to Merchandising teams and cross-functional business partners
- Prepare cost, vendor, and category materials for leadership reviews, management decks, and recurring business updates
- Develop and maintain merchandise and vendor scorecards and identify category development opportunities
- Analyze cost changes, commodity movement, vendor performance, and category trends to create recommendations
- Support multi-year vendor and merchandise strategies, including vendor evaluation and assortment considerations
- Build dashboards, trackers, and reporting tools for vendor cost movement, cost mitigation, and business drivers
- Support Joint Business Planning activities through supplier analytics, performance tracking, negotiation materials, and identification of cost recovery or growth opportunities
- Communicate findings and recommendations to Merchandising, category managers, sourcing managers, and cross-functional stakeholders
- Proactively identify supplier, cost, promotional, and other risks before they become business issues
- Translate complex data into executive-ready insights and track decision ownership, action plans, and progress
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Business, Business Analytics, Economics, Finance, Supply Chain, or related field
- 2+ years of experience utilizing analytics, financial modeling, category/vendor analysis, or business reporting to support decisions
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and execute with a high level of accuracy
- Strong analytical skills, including combining multiple data sources into clear business cases and practical recommendations
- Experience building and analyzing financial models, cost scenarios, dashboards, scorecards, and management reporting materials
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including translating data-driven insights for non-technical audiences
- Excellent critical thinking skills and attention to detail
- Customer-service mindset and ability to provide timely, accurate, actionable analysis
- Master's degree preferred but not required
- Experience with Power BI, Circana, Datalake, SQL/query tools, Oracle reporting, or other data tools preferred
