About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee daily operations of the food production line in a manufacturing facility
- Train, mentor, supervise, assign tasks to, and monitor production staff
- Schedule shifts and manage staffing levels
- Coordinate production activities to ensure efficient and timely food production
- Monitor production processes for adherence to quality standards, recipes, and specifications
- Ensure production targets and high-quality output are achieved
- Perform pre-operational, operational, and post-operational inspections
- Address employee concerns, resolve conflicts, and foster a positive work environment
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase productivity and reduce waste
- Monitor equipment performance and coordinate maintenance or repairs
- Monitor raw material and packaging inventory and coordinate with procurement and inventory teams
- Maintain production records and prepare reports for management
- Ensure organization and cleanliness on the production floor
- Ensure HACCP and SQF compliance and regulatory documentation
- Assist the Food Center Manager with internal audits
- Follow HR practices and procedures, provide motivational and corrective feedback, and support positive discipline
- Attend monthly Health and Safety Meetings and report hazards
- Provide direction and guidance to sandwich makers, machine operators, and lead hands on performance, training, and positive discipline
- Perform other duties assigned by management
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum grade 12
- Relative experience
- Supervisor skills and experience an asset
- High school-level reading, writing, and math
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to use calculators, wrapping machine, metal detector, conveyor belts, thermometer, and weighing scales
- Minimal travel required
- Must be able to work in a cold environment
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs
- Must be available to work varying shifts based on operational needs, including 11:00 PM–7:00 AM, 3:30 AM–11:30 AM, and 11:30 AM–1:30 PM
- Must maintain any required food handlers’ certification/license as required
