About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Own the strategy and roadmap for 8am's Identity and Access Management platform
Own the roadmap for login flows, single sign-on, multi-factor authentication, session management, and passwordless authentication
Define and evolve role-based access control and fine-grained entitlements across products and customer segments
Drive strategy for the identity platform, including APIs, service-to-service authentication, and integrations with internal and third-party systems
Translate security, compliance, and business requirements into a prioritized roadmap and communicate trade-offs
Partner with engineering and security teams to scope, sequence, and ship IAM capabilities from discovery through launch and iteration
Act as the internal identity expert for product teams
Define IAM success metrics and use data to prioritize investment
Represent customer and internal engineering consumer needs in roadmap decisions

Requirements

What you’ll need

Robust 5+ years of product management experience, including meaningful time owning a platform, infrastructure, or security-adjacent product
Direct experience with identity and access management concepts: authentication protocols (OAuth, OIDC, SAML), SSO, MFA, session management, and authorization/RBAC models
Comfort operating in a technically complex domain
A track record of shipping platform capabilities that other internal teams build on, not just customer-facing features
Strong prioritization skills and judgment to balance security/compliance requirements against speed and usability
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to explain technical identity concepts clearly to engineers and non-technical stakeholders
Experience working with security and compliance teams (e.g., SOC 2, data privacy requirements) is preferred/a plus
Demonstrated experience leveraging AI tools and technologies to improve workflows, enhance decision-making, or drive innovation
