About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Supervise visits between children and families in client homes and community settings
  • Provide engaging parenting skills assistance, in-the-moment redirection, and parent coaching
  • Promote safe and successful family reunification
  • Advocate for families and set goals with caseworkers and families
  • Document progress and maintain accurate, unbiased visit reports
  • Report concerns involving alleged abuse or neglect
  • Testify in court as needed
  • Provide safe and reliable transportation to and from visits
  • Work closely with families and the Department of Health and Human Services to achieve caseworker-set goals
  • Help families find and apply for supportive resources
  • Maintain consistent communication with DHHS and the manager
  • Submit written incident reports within 24 hours
  • Submit service documentation and mileage for all cases within 36 hours of service

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Reliable transportation to safely transport children and meet families
  • Valid insurance and driver's license required
  • Clear communication and strong documentation skills
  • Positive rapport with families to build trust and provide meaningful support
  • Prior experience working with kids, crisis intervention and conflict resolution
  • Knowledge of child development and the child welfare system
  • Candidates must be at least 21 years old
  • Clear criminal history
  • Driving record with no more than three points assessed
  • Strong written communication skills for accurate and unbiased documentation
  • Excellent verbal communication skills via phone and email
  • Weekday, evening (2pm-8pm), and regular weekend availability
  • Bachelor's degree in a Human Services field preferred but not required
