About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and motivate a team environment, supporting direct reports to optimize performance and professional growth
- Pursue new sales leads while maintaining current clients
- Assist with payables, receivables, quoting, and profit and loss statements
- Guide and supervise the daily operations of CHB colleagues
- Monitor workflow and completion of customer correspondence, claims, post-entry work, logs, collections, and customer problem resolution
- Oversee office colleagues, review progress, field inquiries, and resolve technical problems
- Adjust personnel and assignments to meet deadlines, including monitoring and guiding colleagues on all shifts
- Conduct regular audit reviews to ensure procedures and paper flow are followed
- Send information and feedback promptly to managers or designated team members
- Stay current on industry, company policy, and procedure changes; communicate updates to the team for compliance
- Foster positive relationships with CBP and other government agencies regarding entry resolution
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management
Requirements
What you’ll need- Highschool Diploma/GED
- Licensed Customs Broker
- 3+ years of supervisory/managerial experience
- 5+ years of customs brokerage experience
- Expertise in import, transportation, logistics, and customs brokerage
- Ability to support clients and inspire colleagues
- Analytical skills, including accuracy, thoroughness, information gathering and analysis, multitasking, and prioritization
- Customer-oriented skills, including managing difficult customer situations, responding promptly to customer needs, soliciting feedback, and clear communication
- Interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution, confidentiality, active listening, emotional control, openness to ideas, accountability, and teamwork
