Key responsibilities & impact
  • Carry out cost studies by analyzing input data, identifying materials and manufacturing processes, and costing them using internal tools and methodologies
  • Understand and explain how products work, including systems, subsystems, components, and functions
  • Identify and recommend ways to optimize system costs
  • Drive cost/performance benchmarking and value analysis studies
  • Build study reports according to required quality standards
  • Provide teammates with specific studies to contribute to project insights
  • Take part in early need analysis
  • Contribute to providing customers with appropriate costing and/or cost management approaches
  • Present study results according to customers’ needs
  • Assess workload and timelines related to the technical perimeter of responsibility and commit to them
  • Alert project management about risks concerning the technical perimeter, timeline, or project delivery quality
  • Write and update technical content and guidelines
  • Improve internal tools, models, and templates
  • Ensure technical watch in the specific competency area
  • Share knowledge and support teammates

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Graduate from an engineering school, or equivalent engineering master degree in mechanics, electronics, applied physics, automation, systems engineering, or manufacturing/production
  • 2+ year minimum experience in a major engineering company, as a systems / technical design / cost engineer
  • Knowledge of thermal systems, including cooling, heating, engine cooling, and HVAC
  • Experience in related manufacturing and assembly processes such as aluminum and plastic casting, extrusion, stamping, machining, injection molding, brazing, welding, tube forming, crimping, heat treatment, leak testing, and final assembly
  • Experience with materials commonly used in thermal systems, including aluminum, steel, copper, plastics, rubber, and thermal interface materials
  • Ability to evaluate material selection, manufacturing methods, assembly techniques, and their impact on component cost, performance, quality, and manufacturability
  • Develop detailed cost analyses to determine should-cost values, assess supplier quotations, identify cost-reduction opportunities, and provide technical support to Purchasing when challenging supplier pricing
  • Keen interest in industry and its products, innovation and manufacturing technologies
  • Culture of cost, as well as a true spirit of analysis and synthesis
  • Result oriented with operational excellence
  • Works autonomously and as part of a team, acts as a resource for less experienced colleagues
  • Be proactive, polyvalent, well organized, curious and keen to details
  • Fluent English written & oral (minimum B2)
