About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Partner with business leaders and multifunctional teams to understand strategic goals, pain points, customer or employee needs, and workflow-reinvention opportunities
- Lead current-state assessments and future-state designs for sophisticated workflows spanning teams, applications, channels, data sources, decisions, and controls
- Design end-to-end systems of work connecting experiences with people, processes, technology, data, decisions, controls, AI agents, and support capabilities
- Facilitate workshops and working sessions to move teams from ambiguity to aligned future-state decisions
- Identify opportunities for AI automation, augmentation, recommendations, decision support, orchestration, or autonomous action
- Define human-AI work division, human-in-the-loop approaches, intervention triggers, confidence thresholds, approvals, exceptions, overrides, feedback loops, and explainability requirements
- Create clear, visual, implementation-ready systems design artifacts and document future-state workflows and operating-model implications
- Surface cross-system requirements, dependencies, ownership questions, handoffs, risks, and unresolved decisions
- Connect business goals and experience needs to downstream technology implementation while partnering with Architecture, Data, Engineering, Governance, BRMs, and business divisions
- Support implementation teams and participate in design-assurance checkpoints
- Identify, develop, and contribute reusable enterprise patterns, components, services, methods, templates, case studies, and lessons learned
- Act as a trusted design and transformation partner to business leaders
- Help develop CSAA's Enterprise Systems Design methods, standards, templates, and quality bar
- Define success measures, establish baselines, gather lessons, and communicate impact through case studies and executive storytelling
- Shape company culture through employee resource groups, mentoring, volunteering, and cross-functional projects
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
- 10+ years of dynamic experience in systems design, service design, workflow/process transformation, design strategy, digital transformation, product/service innovation, management consulting, or product management
- Deep expertise in systems thinking, service design, and workflow design
- Experience translating sophisticated business problems into coherent future-state systems
- Experience leading sophisticated multi-functional engagements involving multiple business units, systems, collaborators, or technology platforms
- Ability to move between front-stage and backstage systems
- Ability to create and communicate systems-of-work blueprints, service blueprints, workflow maps, dependency maps, role and handoff models, decision models, and operating-model designs
- Strong AI fluency, including practical knowledge of generative AI, agents, automation, retrieval, decision support, and AI-enabled workflow patterns
- Understanding of human-AI interaction and human-in-the-loop design
- Ability to decompose sophisticated workflows into tasks, decisions, context, data, knowledge, tools, controls, and exceptions
- Strong business insight and ability to connect design decisions to measurable business value
- Experience facilitating senior-level and multi-functional workshops with differing objectives or ownership
- Strong visual communication and storytelling skills
- Comfort with ambiguity and initiatives where no single function leads the entire outcome
- Ability to influence without formal authority and move groups toward decisions and commitments
- Ability to work independently on high-profile engagements while collaborating within a small, senior team
- Must be authorized to work indefinitely in the United States
- Must not require immigration support now or in the future
- Travel as needed for divisional/team meetings and other in-person meetings
- Master's degree, relevant training or certification, regulated-industry experience, AI workflow redesign experience, service design or business-process transformation experience, enterprise architecture collaboration, reusable enterprise-pattern experience, design systems familiarity, transformation methodology experience, prototyping or pilot-design experience, and coaching experience are listed as factors that would make the employer excited about a candidate
